Jovic is now 0-27 after losing the first set against top 100 players

Her game is definitely a gatekeeper type of game as it exists right now
Very good rally tolerance but basically no way to stop it when a good ballstriker gets in a rhythm because she doesn't really have much weight of shot at this stage

I agree. Of course things can continue improving for her and she's still very young, but I've never really understood the "Iva's definitely going to win slams and be world no. 1" crowd based on where her game is today. She is a very solid player but I don't think she's demonstrated much that distinguishes a good player from a slam champion and world no. 1.

I put a grain of salt on the 500's she won simply due to which 500 it was. Most of the tour heads out to the Asia swing right away after the US Open, but she was extremely wise to choose to travel down south after the US Open the last 2 years, those points have been huge for her

Whats her record after winning the first set?

I don't watch her that much. What are the reasons she can't grind out wins after losing the first set?

Shnaider has had a pretty consistent year, like she's 13th in terms of the race, but she's yet to make a final this year. Maybe she can make the final here.

She was pretty close in RG but just had to run into peaking Maja

Yeah we were 1 match from seeing doubles partners who'd just won a 1000 together play in the final, would have been interesting to see.

She's constantly moving up the ladder. I keep comparing her career timeline to Noskova, they're extremely close, and she actually has more titles, but obviously Linda's first big GS run ended with a slam win, and Diana's was a tough SF loss to Maja.

I predicted her to be a top ten player heading into last season. It ended up being a pretty disappointing season for her, but she’s really picked it back up in a pretty decent way this season.

This will only be her 4th semifinal of the year

If you aren't on the Diana Shnaider hype train yet, hop on board! Love her so much, she's so positive and whether she plays her best or not, seems like a really happy person in her interviews! I am starting to see that aura in her that you just kinda feel with the top players, & I believe in her game big time

It's a shame she's an out and out vatnik

so the match against maga trump sympathizer was fair
16. u/Elegant-Resolution14 · 2026-10-23 13:28 UTC
Who is that maga trump sympathizer🤨
17. u/Ok_Midnight450 · 2026-10-23 13:31 UTC
any American player. isn't that the valid logic?
18. u/Dull-Blacksmith4837 · 2026-10-23 13:33 UTC
No. His logic is that Diana has a history of supporting pro war content and spreading Putin propaganda. She's not complicit.

i did not know visiting your country and participating in a few local tournaments was putin propaganda, sorry.

I've always wondered why she's not as hyped as her peers. She's young, gets pretty consistent results, fun to watch etc.
