lol this story boils down to that the team consists of 3 higher ranked players who’ve had more success this year and one of the top doubles teams. I understand Matteo is a DC stalwart who often over performs there, but it’s hard to make the case for him compared to cobolli, darderi, and Musetti

The headline & article implies that berrettini was not selected for the Davis cup squad bc of tension with Musetti. I’m simply saying there is probably a simpler explanation as to why he was not picked. I’m not commenting on the veracity of the rumors at all. If there was no gossip, the story would hardly garner any headlines. It would just be “well Matteo’s done great at Davis cup but the other 3 are ranked higher”

But it also doesn’t do much to dispel all the rumours (the TTV interview and unfollowing on social media probably has more weight than DC team selection though)
