Tsitsipas sends another 'dart' at his father "My team is half of my work. A team that's inspiring and has a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Now I'm more cautious about the things I want to engage with in life, and especially with whom. I better understand the kind of people I want to collaborate with"

He may not get back to the top, but it’s plain to see that his mentality and his game have improved tremendously this summer and fall. Tennis is such a mental sport as much as physical, and he just looks happier out there. Would love to see him make some noise during the clay swing next year.

I have hopes he’ll make some deep clay runs in 2027. So stoked to see him happy again.

I would love to see him be top form too, but I would be happy if he were playing at a high level and learned to be happier and lighter. He seems to be taking steps to break free from self-destructive cycles, and, from personal experience, that’s hard. It will pay off the rest of his life though.

You’re right about tennis being such a mental sport. Sure it gets acknowledged from time to time but I think it’s easy to lose sight of.
I played a two set match yesterday. It was brutal. During third set tie break I absolutely lost points because of mental things. Just so easy to lose focus or have emotions create problems.

It's great that Stefanos isn't stealing quotes from people anymore on Twitter and acting like a hyperphilosopher. Hopefully this will translate to him learning how to hit a backhand from low to high, instead of like he's trying to open a door handle.

He's a former top 3 player and you're a nobody hating from your couch, thinking you can teach something to someone who was a top 5 player for most of his career. Online haters are hilarious 💀

I’m not a hater. Look at his current rating. I was one of his biggest fans since before he got successful because of how solid his one hand used to be. He likely has an unaddressed injury and thinks that his twisting of the arm is an adaptation to it, when really he’s weakened his game over the past 3 years.

That's a fair take actually

I've seen it in person. If his UTR is 15, his 1HBH is a 12.

Oh, he's still doing that!

The "dart" could also be aimed at Goran... 👀

The bit about hard work is almost certainly about Goran, I don't think Apostolos called out his hard work at any point did he?

After defeating Aleksandar Kovacevic in 3 sets, Tsitsipas attended a press conference and emphasized that the great moment he is experiencing is largely due to his team. "My team is half of my work. A team that is inspiring, that has a calm atmosphere. If that sense of tranquility is created, both in training and daily life, it is very important and pleasant. You need to be surrounded by the right people. Throughout my career, I have gone through a lot. I have had to face some quite uncomfortable moments. I am a man who likes to work a lot, who is ready to work hard," he stated.
In fact, he has sent a message to his father and former coach. With Apostolos on his bench, discussions were constant, and as he reveals now, the atmosphere is much healthier. "I was raised from a young age with the conviction that everything important in life is achieved through hard work. That's why, when certain things called me, it started to confuse me. I have never had this experience before. But I believe you learn, and you become more cautious about the things you want to engage with in life, and especially with whom. Now I better understand the kind of people I want to collaborate with."

Some people just don't get it. You simply DON'T WORK WITH FAMILY AND/OR FRIENDS.
