Even in a loss, this was the best Alex has looked since the US Open and I'm so happy

I like Shnaider's game; if she's on, she could give Jovic some issues in the QF. Eala didn't play bad either, she had some nice winners; but just made abit too many errors, when it mattered. Since this is reddit i guess we're back to the "it's over" stage... j/k for Eala fans it's on to Tokyo lol

When I saw the pic I thought this was about Diana not Eala lol, because of her post match interview after the comeback vs Yulia! Her interviews went from welp my tournament is about to be over to WE ACTUALLY WON THIS 1 AND PLAYED AMAAAAAZIIING, WE'RE BACK!

alex was reading shnaider's serve so well in the first set but just couldnt convert when it mattered. those break points she let slip at 5-5 really changed everything

Honestly, this week has been a good step back towards the right direction for Alex after whatever the past month was. If there's a loss to get behind and learn from moving forward, it's definitely this one against another lefty with a good point construction like Diana.

Ahhhh yeah! I want this form. This drive. This body language that was somehow missing in SG and Wuhan. There was a fight to be given.

I'm happy too.

The lefty vs lefty match we deserved.

I can't remember the last time I've seen lefty vs lefty

2 matches this year and both delivered. Starting to think matches of Diana against lefties are always gonna be banger

Fernandez and Chwalinska fought in the Singapore SF

Remember when Maja whooped Diana's ass in RG SF?

There was also Eala-Fernandez in the Washington DC Open

Also, the most "If only Alex had a serve" match ever

She has shown instances of her serve improving. Surely they'll work to keep it consistent and make it better during the offseason. Excited to see an Eala with a decent serve next year lol

Sound wise it has more thump when she's going for the serve down the T, but she just can't put it into play

good match between the 2, agree—best Alex has looked since US Open.
She shouldn’t be so hard on herself and her fans shouldn’t be so hard on her for this match. It could’ve gone either-way, kudos to Shnaider for coming out the winner.

Agree, the fight she showed in that last game was a good sign after the last few weeks.
