Blockx' longevity is understated.

Why does this picture look ancient

4. u/Existing-Savings-419 · 2026-10-22 10:01 UTC

Because most are now retired

Murray Is the only player in history to win a slam, an Olympic gold, atp finals, a masters, an atp 500, year end N1 in the SAME SEASON.

Year 2016

Finally, he can rub it in the face of that guy born a week after him 😄

Glad that everyone has some records.

Djokovic: won EVERY big tournament

Federer: 237 weeks in a row Nadal: 14 French open Murray: the thing I mentioned

The most fitting records for them:

Nole holds weeks at No.1 record 428

Rafa holds weeks at No.2 record 387

Fed holds weeks at No.3 record 222

Murray holds weeks at No.4 record 181

The Big4 in a nutshell?

Murray also has the most Olympic golds of any player. And the only to win them consecutively.

"Male player, right?"

12. u/Rickcampbell98 · 2026-10-22 12:51 UTC

No one else has 2 in singles, it's just him

Murray’s 2016 season was insane. It felt like everything finally worked for him - I always thought of him of more than deserving of the big 4 title, but his achievements that season really put beyond a shadow of doubt that he’s the same caliber as the other four

Shame his back didn’t feel the same

14. u/Obvious_Train · 2026-10-22 15:28 UTC

Yeah his body went "yeah that nice and all, but we're not doing that again" :(

When you know ten years from now, basically everyone in this picture except you and another Balkan unc would be retired - including a guy who’s 6 years younger than you. 😭

17. u/thegoldenkingfisher · 2026-10-22 10:49 UTC

Also when you've just swept the last 4 slams

18. u/Rickcampbell98 · 2026-10-22 12:49 UTC

He didn't though, this was the final event of the year and he didn't win the us open or Wimbledon

19. u/Andrewcoo · 2026-10-22 10:05 UTC

I loved it how Nadal held onto his top 10 taking throughout his worse years (2015 and 2016), ending up with an incredible consecutive top 10 streak from April 2005 to March 2023.

Incredible when you think about the periods of injury he had. I always noticed that as soon as he returned he'd very quickly get back into form, and this streak wouldn't be possible without that quality I imagine.
