I’ve always liked Fritz and how he generally conducts himself. Hope he has a good next year

Me too but he’s 30. I’m not sure it’s gonna happen.

Yeah no player has won a big tournament after turning 30…

I mean a slam. It’s young to get harder.

....didnt zverev win 2 slams this year? And how old is he?......and you think fritz cant win a slam in the next 2-3 years?.....🤔 💭 🏆

He said he’s not sure it’s gonna happen, no idea why that is such a downvote-worthy take. It took incredible luck with Sincaraz injuries for Zverev to get these two slams this year, and most would agree that overall he’s a better player than Fritz even if Taylor matches up well with him head-to-head. I would love a Fritz slam but if you made me bet on whether it’s more likely he wins one or not I’d sadly probably have to lean towards the negative side.

Yup I get Fritz is likable and he had a good run but if we're looking at his year at a whole it's been far from a "only Sincaraz are stopping him" thing
He had a truly horrendous loss at the USO with the exact same chance as Zverev I don't at all back him to take an opening if it happens

Yes

He was smiling through it, gotta respect him for it.
10. u/dontipitova9 · 2026-11-07 13:15 UTC
That's all he can do. Carlos is is too good.
11. u/Technical_Put_4237 · 2026-11-07 13:17 UTC
Well he could have shown frustration when Carlos pulled off that ridiculous save on match point but he sat down grinning
12. u/princetower · 2026-11-07 14:17 UTC
Grinning is frustration. He knows he gave his best and it was not good enough against a GOAT level player. Speaks to his maturity and respect for his opponent

At that point Fritz probably still believed he could still win. The poor guy was visibly upset when he lost the next game though.
14. u/pr0crast1nater · 2026-11-07 14:14 UTC
How would it help to show frustration there?
15. u/Technical_Put_4237 · 2026-11-07 14:18 UTC
It wouldn’t. But it would be human to be frustrated losing match points and getting out of the ATP finals
16. u/Strice · 2026-11-07 15:03 UTC
Taylor is more based than that
17. u/kaushikfi6 · 2026-11-07 15:48 UTC
I think there is room for more than one reaction being "human" haha - if anything, it just told me he did everything he could at that point and some people might be frustrated but I also think sometimes you can't help but to laugh
18. u/Easy-Pack9112 · 2026-11-07 17:20 UTC
Exactly, also the laugh could be more in disbelief or irritation. Policing people’s reactions is definitely something
19. u/patiperro_v3 · 2026-11-07 14:32 UTC
He was close enough that he must know he can win these. At least in a best of 3.

Yes but he has two MPs and one was on his racket.
