Tiafoe qualifies for Turin with this result.
Shelton will play Van Assche or Hijikata in the semi final

Sad story of Tommy's career – he plays great, is ALMOST there, ALMOST seals the deal...only to lose the game and any motivation to break back. Unclutch in pressure moments and didn't have the mentality to come back from the break in the third set.

You are blaming this on motivation to come back? Was already a break down in a match with three total breaks, one each set. You blame the mentality to not come back like that was the main problem.
His groundstrokes and serve don't offer a sizeable advantage over the rest of the tour. Compensates with movement, but in the end, he is capped in ceiling to face the best players. And he doesn't have nothing that stands to pressure besides his movement.
Great player, people here overrate him based on the ups of some of his performances instead of his median

First masters semi final outside of Canada for Shelton

Of course it's at a fast indoor hard court 💀

That's an unbelievably hilarious statistic for how long he's been on tour
And yet I can totally see him scamming this masters, that semifinal seems rather easy

Am I missing something? He’s been on tour just a few years

If you aren’t Sinner or Alcaraz then you’re trash at the sport to 80% of this sub

I believe the tier list goes: Sincaraz, Djokovic, that guy's 4.0 friend, the rest.

He has been pro since 2022. Not an awfully long time but also not too short. I guess it feels long because he did well quite quickly.

Yeah and you’re not expected to be making masters SFs in your first few years, and this is a stat that excludes the tournaments he did that in lol. Not a “hilarious” statistic

His ATP Tour debut was in July 2022, Masters & Slams debut in Aug 2022

4 years.

It’s hilariously good.
Only 6 players since 1990 have made the semis at every Masters 1000. The Big 4, Zverev, and Sinner
Edit: I got the original post backwards. It’s actually pretty abysmal.

He’s good but if he’s an upcoming threat to Sincaraz as many are predicting, you’d think he would have won a slam by now or made more finals. Sinner is a year older with 5 slams, Alcaraz a year younger with 7. The gap is huge.

ben started playing tennis way way later than both of them.

Doesn’t matter. He doesn’t have that generational magic regardless.
