A lot of people are gonna be looking for drama where there is none.

Wouldn't be surprised if Alcaraz already heard about this before yesterday.

Also someone was eventually going to hire JCF so why would it even matter to Alcaraz who hires him. People are just overanalysing everything for no reason.

I'm sure there are some emotions, but he's smart and professional enough to keep them to himself. As you say, it was inevitable that JCF would end up working with someone else. It will probably be a bit weird for everybody if they meet in a slam final and JCF is in Ben's box, but I'm sure they will be adults about it. Unlike the fans.

The offseason is coming so people are squeezing every drop of drama out of these last few weeks. Before JCF is even in Shelton's box.

like when Uncle Tony left Rafa to coach FAA and they ended up facing each other, as seen in Break Point.

Unfortunately it is another instance of people wanting drama were there isn't. JCF and Carlos split months ago. He is free to get hired by anyone. It is not a Roig/GMP or Zheng/Fissette situation.

I don’t think Carlos cares about this breakup as much as JCF does and that’s also evident in the way they have moved in the aftermath of it

Hasn't it been like a year since they split? It was only a matter of time before he joined another player's team. I very much doubt Alcaraz was trying to blacklist JCF in the locker room.

And frankly Shelton would have been an idiot to say no to him.

Announced before Christmas last year! It's about time JCF returned to coaching.

Yeah imo there's no way he didn't know that this was in the works.

Furthermore I’d be shocked if Ben didn’t speak with Carlos before hiring him. That’s just good due diligence.

I mean he acted pretty surprised on his press con when jurno brought that up, so i dont think he knew. Maybe it’s like "whatever" for him because he close the Juanki’s chapter.

He said someone had already mentioned it to him in the full answer to that question, but he didn't know if it was true yet. So it wasn't off his radar or a huge surprise. He was making sure the press couldn't cite him as a leak / source of rumour

The only people making drama out of this are bored fans.

16. u/Mother_Bar8511 · 2026-11-02 12:30 UTC

Exactly! It’d be like wanting your ex back 😂😭🤣

17. u/iamtheliqor · 2026-11-02 12:45 UTC

It’s not even like that. They worked together

18. u/badapopas · 2026-11-02 16:09 UTC

a more appropriate post title would be “Golden retriever greets all his friends”

19. u/pr0crast1nater · 2026-11-02 13:21 UTC

Yeah. I mean that's basically what he said in the conference lol. Obviously if they play each other in a tennis match, there could be some extra motivation on either side to beat each other. But off court, why would he care.
