Really cementing himself as a top 20 player! So happy for him.

I’m French (and British) so I’m thrilled, both him and Kouame!

He’s ranked 27th even after this win. Keep in mind he’s had a full year of being seeded at top tournaments as well since it’s been over a year since he won his masters.

He was also hurt for a good portion of the year though. Had to withdraw in the second round of RG and missed the entire grass swing.

I feel like you're trying to state a negative here when him consolidating his ranking position in the top 30, even with the points drop, is an incredible success. Especially given he got hurt at Monte Carlo and wasnt fit until the US open.

Not trying to be negative, but I do think it’s weird to say he’s cementing himself as a top 20 player when he’s going to finish the year outside the top 20, barring a massive run at Paris. If he can stay healthy though next year he should hopefully make his way back up there though, being seeded at the big events early next year will be massive for him.

Vachegoat 🤝 Chwalinska: following up with tour titles after their breakout runs

That’s the tall and the short of it

I mean obviously at some point you're likely to win a title after your 'breakout run' 😅

Plenty of one off in both tours like Boisson. Or Raducanu so far.

Boisson won the Hamburg 250 after her French Open run

Yeah but more often than not, this is the turning point that many players capitalize on. It doesn't seem unusual, besides his second title is coming after more than a year, chwalinska's came after 4 months!

18. u/drppr_ · 2026-11-01 16:54 UTC

It is more often than not a turning point because the players that are breaking out are young and on an improving trajectory. Vacherot and Chwalinska are 27 and 25.

19. u/aweap · 2026-11-01 17:57 UTC

Fair enough

Vacherot must be one of the clutchest players. He wins quite a bit despite having worse stats overall.
