World #1 merchant which is why we need to see him against Zverev asap

A Medvedev/Zverev Slam final might somehow be even worse quality than the 2020 USO final
Zverev in that matchup and current Medvedev in general can't close out anything

159 shot rallies

That's fine, I like sufferball.

Their last slam match was actually kinda insane.

I was at this match and it remains my favorite match I’ve ever seen live. Funniest possible outcome.

Yeah it was a genuine troll from Meddy. You could not have scripted a funnier loss for Zverev even if you were a sadist.

That whole slam run was a troll from Meddy
9. u/Eyebronx · 2026-10-31 17:05 UTC
It’s their only slam match😭

AO 2024 was only time they faced in slam?? This is something which just doesn't sound right 😭
11. u/Eyebronx · 2026-10-31 17:12 UTC
Yes and it’s one of the funniest matches of all time too😭
12. u/CentreCourtWarrior · 2026-10-31 17:01 UTC
I still want to see it lmao

Medvedev Zverev AO Final 2027. Medvedev leads 2 sets to 0. What happens next is absolute cinema.

1-10 against world number 2

Who was that one win against?
16. u/IceExtension6204 · 2026-10-31 17:02 UTC
Nadal 2020 ATP Finals.

Peaking at the exact wrong times has been Medvedev's MO since like 2024
Of course he saved his 1 peak against each of Sinner and Alcaraz when he'd have to play the other one next and meanwhile couldn't even show up and play decent when either were absent from Slams lol
He's like the polar opposite of current Zverev in terms of peak to efficiency ratio current Medvedev shows up for big matches but not big titles

That's what made AO 2024 so frustrating. The issue wasn't necessarily the final against Sinner. It's that he wasted so much time on court in the matches leading up to it that he ran out of gas.

I’m still gutted he lost that one. Especially since Sinner has gone on to win so many more.
