Seriously, how is he this bad at placing a smash? He doesn't even hit it hard, so it should be easier to get an angle on it???

No mystery, he knows he'd never lose a match if he could smash so he just handicaps himself like that. He's a merciful god.

I think it's actually harder to hit a smash when you don't accelerate through it

Zverev does the same thing and he also can be very sketchy with his overheads

The gap in movement/reflexes between even 2025 Novak and much of 2026 is very noticeable IMO
